Since I've discovered that I can use my Eee at school in one class :D, I've set up a hardware profile to disable the sound and webcam in Device Manager. However, I want to be able to do the same thing with software, as most of it I'll only use at home.

So the question is, is that possible? (3rd party startup manager?)

Disable software? You don't need to, just don't load it.

I use most of the programs (DAEMON Tools, Google Talk, Windows Live Messenger etc.) at home, but don't need them at school.

I guess I'll try a second user account for the time being.

Hit the mute button don't start the programs you don't need in class, bluetac over the webcam. Why does something so simple need to be so complicated

Because the Windows XP startup sound will probably distract in class, and because I want to. :p

What I use is this nifty piece of software called Advanced Startup manager:
http://www.rayslab.com/startup_manager/startup_manager.html

Basically, you can create different startup profiles with it:thumbs:

Sad thing is, its not free, but you can try it for 30 days and buy it if you like it.
