I'm having difficulty on which graphics card to decide on!
Not sure if spending the extra money is worth it or not?
(just to help, I have an Intel core2duo E8400 3GHz CPU)

Here are my options:

- ATI 4850 (512Mb) for $340
- NVIDIA 9800 GTX+ for $350
- ATI 4850 (1GB) for $415
- ATI 4870 for $490

Well do you game? Because the single most important component in a gaming PC is the Graphics card.
In which case I'd choose the 4870 from that list.

So what you are all trying to say is the 4850 is a better option than the 9800GTX+ considering they are the same price.
But is the extra $150 really rip out much performance increase for the 4870?

If its an option spend more $$ if required to get a silent heatpipe version. Or maybe even consider a slightly slower model (depending on your requirements).

The small GPU fans tend to be dust magnets and fail quickly not to mention noisey as in summer.

4850 is enough.
