I went into My Computer, Local Disk (C:) drive and there are well over 75 directories with odd names as: d6d257faf8257faa1421f813d07e2d

within each seems to be only one file named: msxml4-kb927978-enu

this is some of the 41 pages of text:
=== Verbose logging started: 29/11/2006 8:48:58 Build type: SHIP UNICODE 3.01.4000.2435 Calling process: C:\WINDOWS\system32\msiexec.exe ===

Anyone know whats happening here,
and is it something to be concerned about?

They were probably created with some MS updates. Some updates do create long name folders
