Depends on what you want to do - there are lots of different commands, some work with others some dont. If you want to simply check system files, then sfc /scannow If you want to run chkdsk, a general one is chkdsk /r But adding in different switchs will make the command do different things. have a look Through the full list (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-nz/library/bb491071(en-us).aspx) - click on the one you want and it expands giving the available switches as well.

Edited: Have a look at chkdsk On this page (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-nz/library/bb490890(en-us).aspx) - select the ones you want.

Be a bit selective as to what you run, for example if you have a drive D you could run chkdsk d: /f BUT as MS advices:
If you use chkdsk /f on a very large disk (for example, 70 gigabytes) or a disk with a very large number of files (for example, millions of files), chkdsk might take a long time (for example, over several days) to complete. The computer is not available during this time because chkdsk does not relinquish control until it is finished.

70Gb Large ??? :D
