I have an external drive at work, and want to allow a couple of people here access to a folder on that drive that has a few hundred subfolders. Have set the folder as shared, but the subfolders do not inherit the shared property. Any ideas on how I can apply sharing across multiple folders at once in XP SP2?

Otherwise I am going to have to apply sharing to every subfolder, and the subfolders under them in most cases... would rather avoid having to do that if possible, as it will take a few hours. For some reason when I go to the top folder there is no option to apply the sharing to subfolders that I can see, and if I select multiple folders the Sharing options disappear from the right click menu and properties

If this was Ubuntu I'd have sorted this by now, but at work I have no option but to use the Win XP provided

"When you share a folder, you also share all of its subfolders unless you make them private. "

Cheers, thanks for that. Tried it from someone else's PC here, and sure enough, I can access all the subfolders in the shared folder. Funny thing is, when I look at the properties on any of the subfolders in the shared folder they show not shared, yet they are accessible. That is extremely confusing and counter intuitive. Just as well there is nothing in that folder I dont want anyone to see, as I cant see a way to make it private either, and I cant unshare it either.

Anyway, problem solved, much appreciated
