What's some decent AV software for a MacBook?

antivirus (http://www.iantivirus.com/). Not sure how good it is as it has never picked up anything.

Cheers. I know the general consensus is 'Mac's don't need AV software' but there are plenty of reasons why this one in particular should have some. :)

if that is because it goes to dodgy sites I still wouldn't bother. The mac I'm on has been to all the dodgy sites, hence one of the reasons I use it:cool:

I got the answer I needed - why bother? I'd rather speak to a kiwi who knows whats what than some american or indian with their arm stuck so far up their own arse that any thought they have has to pass by their wedding ring...

Not really. It is only needed to prevent viruses being passed to Windows users, they don't affect the Mac
Also needed if running Windows on a Mac of course.

Hi wrattterus
This (http://www.clamxav.com/) is a reasonably good choice. And if you look at Mac websites they recommend antivirus.

ClamXAV is the one made for Apple recommended by Apple and you can get it at www.apple.com

I have it on my Macbook, never finds anything wrong, I hardly ever run it. No viruses, no malware, spyware, or trojans, all clean.
But on my PC with WinXP? Different story ay!

Cheers LL

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. Seems like ClamXAV is the one.

I'll give a cookie to anyone who can guess who emailed me this evening!

There is the little matter of his life-time ban still being in effect.

Getting that laid on him was impressive, damn impressive.
