i decided to delete this as well.

after it was deleted i went to the java site and downloaded java. i opened the file and the thind downloaded a big java file that took about a minute then when it was installing it says that java is already insta;;ed do you want to re install?
i clicked yes it did somethign then the same message came up again.
then it came up again and i clicked yes
that went away too and the whole thing closed after that

Well it installed, its in the log

O23 - Service: Java Quick Starter (JavaQuickStarterService) - Unknown owner - C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin\jqs.exe (file missing)

It probably says its missing because it doesnt know what it is

Does this version appear in add/remove programs?

You can tick these then tick fix checked

Close browsers

i cant take it off, if i tick it on hijack this will it take it off? and on the registry as well because i think thats whats stopping me from reinstalling it. i wont take it off unless you tall me its okay to tho

Use ccleaner (close browsers first)

Then go to tools / highlight the version of Java, delete entry

Then run my computer / tools / folder options / view / show all files

Go to documents and settings / your username / application data.

Delete the sun folder

Go back to ccleaner / registry / scan for issues. Delete whatever comes up. Then go to cleaner, and remove temp files etc. Then try and install it again

You could try. Whether it'll work or not is another matter

Then do what I posted before

Speedy Gonzales

So, what exactly did you delete then?

Or did you delete Java's folder (thats probably why you cant uninstall it)

If you did, you should NEVER delete any program folders, unless you uninstall it first

nerd
23-11-2008, 06:33 PM
i deleted java's folder

what can i do?

Edit: would system restore fix it?

also portable revo uninstaller said it was uninstalled but the jre-6u10-windows-i586-p.exe file still says that there is a version of java on it and it wont install to the computer

Speedy Gonzales
23-11-2008, 06:36 PM
Well dont next time, use ccleaner's registry option, and scan for issues, then delete whatever comes up.

That should remove Java's entries. Then get the full install / 15.4 mb then see if it works

Also make sure youre not trying to remove it while any browsers are open

Well, I could check it, but you'll have to get something like Crossloop, so I can log in remotely

So, I can see what you've done

nerd
24-11-2008, 09:56 AM
where do i get that from?

Edit: found it. and i have downloaded it as well. how do i use it?

Speedy Gonzales
24-11-2008, 10:10 AM
Install crosslop (run it, then click on skip after)

PM me the code (under share I think it is) it gives you.

I'll install it here.

Once I connect allow me to connect, and you'll see what I'm doing

Open notepad, so I can type so you can follow

Open add/remove programs, so I can see the Java entry

Open ccleaner

This will make it easier, because it can be a bit slow. But, if the above programs are opened, it'll be easier for me

Close any other program thats opened (minimise FF or whatever browser you use). Or else I'll be there all day trying to close them
