Hi,

currently i am using dial up modem to download my files.

One of my friend suggested me to do some steps to increase my download speed (currently 5.4 kB/s):

1. change my internet cable because it's old
2. Update my driver for network card.

Does someone have other options? how to check my driver for network card?

Thanks in advance.

Updating the network drivers wont do much. As its not used for dialup..

Unless maybe youre networked to another PC

But you wont get any higher (above 5.4 -5.6 on dialup)

Unless you change to broadband

Yep, for dial up you're getting normal speeds.

If it aint broke, don't fix it.

I think adding another adsl line increases speeds but I thinks it costs

Because it will break, make sure your downloading app and the server you're downloading from supports resuming.
