Why is it with windows the fastest download speed I've ever got is 280Kbs. I've just downloaded with linux & got 675Kbs. Where in xp is the unlock key. Can't find it on google. I've had the same with Vista, but given up with that as it's crap. To my way of thinking, unless you can't get the windows program you really "need" to run with wine, there's no reason to use windows at all.

Its probably MS's paranoia about people who use P2P programs / bittorent

They think everyone in the world uses them / when they dont

Trust me-I thought every type of download manager was sh1t until I used DownThemAll.

At school we have SLOW internet on our laptops.
Download speeds of about 40kps on average.
Using DownThemAll I get a download speeds of around 120kps to 200kps at school.

At home I get 200kps download speeds normally and 370kps downloads speeds from using DownThemAll

Best Download Manager. Ever.

I in my poor poor opinion think the d/l manager on firefox is pretty good std.
I'll try the "upgrade" but figure it depends who's pumping it down your line as opposed to what's on your end.
that sounded...... like it should have been rated.
