My 2 months old Transcend 4 GB flash drive is unusable for no reason. It was working fine just now on a vista laptop.

When I insert it into my desktop it shows there is removable drive but can't read it. I tried to reformat it but it says there is no disk in it! Any other thing that I can do before throwing it away?

Try different USB port / different computer / different platform?

Cheers :)

Sounds like the memory chip has gone to Silicon heaven, leaving the USB controller chip intact. Is it under warranty?

Should be, after all, it's only 2+ months old. Will take it back to the shop next week.
