Hi Guys

I have been using AVG 8 free for the last few months. I find it is OK.
(one common problem is that it seems to loose your update and scan schedules - the only way to fix this is to re-install the program !)

But my problem is that it finds several of my handy little utilities as virus's and puts them into the virus vault.

Does any one know of a way to flag them as wanted programs so that this does not keep happening ?

There is a forum site that you can ask questions

Have a look at This web site here (http://grandstreamdreams.blogspot.com/2008/04/taming-avg-free-version-8.html) - Scroll down and locate "Advanced AVG Settings" ( second one in Red) I think the one you want is PUP Exceptions - I dont use or ever will use AVG so I cant look to check.

From another site:
In AVG 8, you'd open your AVG window, go to the Tools menu and select "Advanced Settings..".

Go to the "PUP Exceptions" section and click "Add Exception".

go into residental shield and add the programs as exceptions.

the other you may need to ask in the avgfree forums.
