Once again I need the helpful advice of my fellow PressF1ers
1) Does anyone know where I can buy the WAIK pack?
Its too big for me to download. I live in Central Auckland.

2) Is there any other way cheaper than buying a DVD recorder (with in0built HDD) to record videos?

3) If I were to build a PC, would a quad core be faster than a dual core with same speed? (i.e 2.6ghz) I read on a website that you would see the difference between quad cores and dual cores when you were rendering, the quad core would be faster but the dual core would be faster at everything else. Is this correct?

Thanks
Blam:)

You can buy a TV tuner card for your PC for about $50 and download TV programmes direct to your computer's HDD.

Or, you could buy a second hand VCR ...

It's not ment for the general public so you can't buy it anywhere.
You may be able to get a copy from someone who has already downloaded it.

Is this (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=C7D4BC6D-15F3-4284-9123-679830D629F2&displaylang=en) what youre talking about Blam?

Or this (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=94BB6E34-D890-4932-81A5-5B50C657DE08&displaylang=en)

Or both?

If they were the same speed, the quad core would at least be the same as the dual core in most/almost all tasks, except ones which are threaded (for example rendering). But obviously the quad core would be much more expensive.

So for the same price, you might be able to get a quad core 2.4ghz for slightly more than the price of a dual core 3.0ghz. The 3.0ghz would be better for most things, but the quad core would be better for threaded applications.

OK, it looks like you need both of the files I posted

I can get them for you, but you'll have to get 2 blank DVDs (and a program), so you can burn them

Since, I havent got any blank DVD's

Then come up to Mt Eden, so I can burn them

Q2, just get a cheap tuner card, or external USB tuner. They're cheap enough on trademe. EG: http://www.trademe.co.nz/Computers/Components/Other-PCI-cards/auction-182903703.htm http://www.trademe.co.nz/Computers/Networking-modems/Wireless-networking/Antennas/auction-183416935.htm If you go the card route, get one with a BT878 chip. Hint hint.

Well nearly got both of these files (6 mins to go on the 2nd - bigger one).

So, if you want them get 2 blank dvds and bring them up to Mt Eden, now if you like.

And I'l burn both of them to DVD

Or you'll have to wait till Friday / the weekend
