Go to start/run if its XP. And type dxdiag. What version is installed

Go to the MS download site and update it (DirectX).

I think this is the full download (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=C1367BC3-4676-481A-BFAA-5C15D1D7199D&displaylang=en)

You could get this but you have to stay online to get the rest of it (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=2da43d38-db71-4c1b-bc6a-9b6652cd92a3&DisplayLang=en)

But the OS has a much later version IE version 9 and I think 5 is required to carry on with the install

There is no IE 9

The only thing is if its only 1 game that needs DirectX 5, if you have later games, they may need DirectX 9. So, you'll be going backwards and forwards all the time

Do a search in google for directx 5

You may or may not be able toi find it

I meant ie:
It is about as I thought and the game is Australian which may explain a lot.
Thanks again.
