Hi everyone,

Can anyone help me find a replacement system board for my Acer Travelmate 2484WxMi laptop? The part number is (near as I can work out) MBTEB06001.

Alternatively, is there any way to recharge the battery once the power jack has been knocked off the system board (it can't be soldered back on evidently)?

Any help much appreciated.

Joe Davies

If it would cost alot to replace (ie $400+) it may be better to look at a new machine (get a Toshiba or an Asus if you decide on a new one - Acer are cr@p)

Don't forgot the service costs too-unless you can do it your self.

And as ACers use ECS motherboards chances are the same thing would happen again 5 minutes later.

There are a lot of happy Acer users out there.
1 A good tekkie can do wonders with 'elephant glue';
2 alternatively, do you have insurance?
3 Anyone with a soldering iron can give you a Heath Robinson connection to the battery compartment.

There are a lot of happy Acer users out there. That may be so - we are referring to the quality of parts in them and how frequently they die.
