How do you chose the default burner ? I currently have Sonic (restricted to audio) and have just downloaded PCBURNERXP. I want to identify Psburnerxp as the default. Control Panel and "Set Program access and defaults" do not give the choice.

How can I tell Premiere Elements ?

You mean cdburnerxp??

You should be able to select the burner in its options, or before you burn

Yes, do mean cdburnerxp - too much haste in posting ! Since then the problem has changed in that I got the blue screen. It is the only change I have done recently - so means will have to do some checks and identify the problem.

What does the bluescreen say?? Does it say the name of a file??

And WHEN does the bluescreen come up? When you go to burn?

Is it the latest version, 4.2.2.984?

Is it when you use this program, or when you do something else in windows?

Thanks Speedy - yes I do have the latest version of cdburnerxp.

However I have overcome my problems by uninstalling Sonic fully - both Sonic "Record Now" and Sonic DLA.

Have now successfully burned twice directly from Premiere Elements 4 to DVD. Sonic must have been over-riding the burning process.

What I had discovered is that Premiere Elements has a built-in burner. It does not need third party burners such as cdburnerxp, Nero or Sonic.

Thanks again for trying to help. Am sure cdburnerxp is a very good program - I just did not need it in the end for this exercise !
