When I turn on my computer Monitor stays blank; hard drive light goes on, but nothing happens including not hearing the beep. If this happens I need to hold down the power button to turn the computer off. Usually have to do this 2 or 3 times before I hear the beep and my computer boots into windows.

Does anyone know whats gone wrong with my computer and how to fix this problem?

Sounds like something theat happened to me a while ago. If you're comfortable opening the computer, check the power connector (the end that plugs into the motherboard). A wire in mine had wiggled loose from the plastic housing, causing the PC to go into a 'hang' state. Had power, but didn't boot. I think it was an orange wire that came out in mine.

As Geekster suggests check cables etc. Could also be that the power supply is faulty!

Also clean dust out of the case, and re-seat the RAM module(s).
