View Full Version : Start-up log for conflict hang?

For WinXP Home - is there a program that will monitor XP's boot up so that any problems can be identified? Sometimes my XP hangs and I have to hit the reset button (then it boots up OK). A few weeks ago some change that I made must have created a conflict, or maybe there is a corrupted dll file. Is there a simple freebie (maybe part of XP?) program that would locate the problem?

Really no answer to my question? :crying

:dogeye: Surely there must be something to log what happens during boot up.

Try pressing F8 then select enable boot logging. It'll create a file ntbtlog.txt in the windows folder

Dont know if that'll tell you what maybe stuffed

But it'll tell u, is what drivers did and didnt load

Thanks Speedy. The file "ntbtlog.txt" was what I was looking for.
