Hi Team,
What folders/files should be scanned for virus's, surely not the whole of the C hdd and data folders.
On todays large hdd's this would take forever :-((

Running Win 2k pro and AVG free

With Nod 32 Eset, scans typically take less than 30 minutes for me. But then, I only have around 40 GB of data on my drive right now.

As Speedy said you need to scan all of your hdd, don’t forget to scan your other partition (Like your data partition) if you have any.

If your computer is not in your room, you could let it scan for virus overnight or when you go out for the day.

not scannin some of it can be a bad mistake.......for example i've seen a virus that'll infect .jpg files ........typically many people have lots of these (photos) stored in their documents folder........be an error to assume that nasties dont necessarily 'live' in there for example
