Are you just wanting to copy the files on it, or are you wanting a block-level image of the partition(s)? Does it have some kind of OS installed on it?

Maybe try the free Drive Image XML (http://www.runtime.org/driveimage-xml.htm) for creating images, which can also do drive-to-drive transfers...

If its a Seagate drive you can use DiscWizard (http://www.seagate.com/ww/v/index.jsp?locale=en-US&name=DiscWizard&vgnextoid=d9fd4a3cdde5c010VgnVCM100000dd04090aRCRD ).

Western Digital has Data Lifeguard (I think thats the name).

Just go to either manufacturers website and they're on there.

I go with Kawhai Chaser for Drive Image XML. Here is a link on how to use it.
http://www.techsupportalert.com/partitioning-hard-drives-1.htm
Its very easy if you follow things methodically.

The above mentioned DriveImage XML is a good free option and there's a few more listed here (http://pressf1.co.nz/showthread.php?p=684850#post684850).

BTW I want a good back-up program that creates images that supports Differential disk image backups and incremental disk image backups.
Any free progra, out there that does that?
