Maybe the new ATI Radeon HD 4850. It's as fast as a 9800 GTX (+).

The fastet card of yours is the 9600 GT.

How much money do you want to spent?

What kind of screen do you have?

8800gs or 9600gso are the same card but are about 5% faster at lower res then the 9600gt gets better as the res goes higher

Well i got $200 dollars to spend on a gfx card. I got a 17inch LCD (native is 1280x1024).I like to go to a shop in Auckland. Prices on the 4850 are higher than my budget allows :(

Thanks

Out of those 3 cards, and at 1280x1024, just buy the cheapest.

I have a 9600gt with 1680x1050 and I can run HL2 Ep2 at max graphics, constantly above 40fps, and it looks fantastic. So don't worry about the small performance difference between them

Out of those 3 , 9600GT. But get an Asus or Gigabyte.

I Play COD4 and Crysis (for about a month I played COD4 on 640x480 and min settings till I got my 8600gt)

I usually don't go above 1024x768 so from what I hear the 9600gso/8800gso(I like the name 8800gs for some reason) seems to be better at that res.
Your Thoughts?

Thanks for quick reply's :)

I think the GS & GSO have more SP's than the 96GT, however has less memory bandwidth and slower core and memory which is why at higher resoltuions the faster core and bandwidth of the 96GT win out.

Talking about graphics cards the GF 8800 GTS 512mb I bought on the 20th of June and paid about $550 for, you can buy now for about $350. You can buy a GF 8800 GTX 720mb card now for what I paid for my GTS. ouch.
:(

If I was to run an AMD cpu I would buy a Raedon vid card.

Never buy a vid card ,or anything else based on price. Save a bit longer and buy what you need. Buying solely on price leads to disappointment.

I'll wait for the 4870/4850 prices to drop a little

Thanks
