It would depend where you are, you don't really want to ship a PC.

As of July 31st 2008, Ascent will no longer be building custom built PC's. The PC Builder tool will still be available, but 'Ascent to assemble' will no longer be an option. Any PC's built by us before this date will still be covered under all applicable warranties, and any repairs or warranty replacements will be carried out as per normal by contacting returns@ascent.co.nz. i would prefer to have the PC assembled already and i dont mind if the site has premades i can order.

It always surprised me they did it, let alone for no charge. It's a big time consumer, imagine how much time they must have tied up to be able to do that.

You can't do owt for nowt.

Would have thought they included labour in parts margin,as I am sure PC and Wainui do.

One of the main reasons as told to me by the guy who use to assemble the PCs for them was the miss match of parts like graphics cards not fitting mbs etc.

Speaking of noobs, I remember back in 2007, someone said that an ATI Radeon 9800 Pro was better than a Geforce 8800GTX 0.o

The numbers matter. The new 4870 is really crap, has about half the performance of the 8800GTX.
