View Full Version : Toshiba Satellite, BIOS password

Myth

I have been handed a Toshiba Satellite A10 laptop.
As soon as you turn it on you are greeted by the users name, a phone number, and password =
The thing is, noone can remember the password
If this were a desktop, I would have no problems, but I know next to nothing about laptops other that there are a lot of things you can do to a desktop that you can't do to a laptop. (Like wipe a BIOS password)

Need help :)

Something here might work (http://labmice.techtarget.com/articles/BIOS_hack.htm)

Some sites say you can pull it to bits, put a dongle in the parallel port, or you'll have to contact toshiba

Incidentally, no parallel port

TOSHIBA BIOS

Most Toshiba laptops and some desktop systems will bypass the BIOS password if the left shift key is held down during boot

Alternatively, clear the settings by removing the cmos battery for 10 minutes (if its easily accessable), as mentioned in Speedy's site.
