There is just the one user account on the logon screen?

In user accounts, remove the asp.net account, that should fix it, if that account isn't there, download TweakUi (http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/Downloads/powertoys/Xppowertoys.mspx), and select the auto logon option.

Do one or the other, if you remove the asp.net account, you need to tick the welcome screen box again.

It's part of one of the .net framework updates. Not necessary for 99% of PC users.

Thought it was that. Some of my programs told me to install it.Is it going to be an ongoing problem?I've just done a clean install not long ago.

Nah, once you get all the updates on, it shouldn't happen again.
