Why does my new mobo say it supports USB 2 in the bios which has been updated to the latest but when I plug in my flash drives they say they are only connected to USB 1.1 and can perform faster if plugged into a USB 2 connection this is the front ports mobo is an Asus P5KPL-CM

:thanks

Update to SP1, (SP1 + supports USB 2) or 2 or 3.

If SP1, 2 or 3 have been installed, the setting in the BIOS for USB 2 maybe on 1.1 speed. Change it

Your usb drive may not support usb 2.0.
Or your front usb ports/the headers they are plugged into are not usb2.0

If you plug it into the rear usb ports on the motherboard and the drive appears as usb2.0, then it is not a software issue.

You may have old USB slots, that are USB1 only.

Problem solved found some new drivers
Did this show as a problem in device manager?
Just wondered if drivers were shown as a problem.
