How can I back up emails, contacts and account settings from Outlook XP all in one go?

It seems that you can only export a single folder at a time - that would be tedious - does Outlook 2003 support exporting all in one fell swoop?

Also, can I export account settings from Outlook XP or 2003?

TIA

This on outlook 2003 - but XP is very similar - this will take across ALL the mail, contacts - Open outlook - File/import and Export/ Export to a file/personal Folder File pst/ Select Personal Folders (Top One), making sure Include subfolder is ticked, Select the destination, Click finish. heres How (http://www.digiportal.com/support/choicemail/technotes/notes/exportcontactsfromoutlookxp.htm) to export the Contacts separately ( Pays to do this sometimes I have found exporting the .pst file for some reason leaves the contacts  )

Personally for the accounts I find its just as quick to put it in manually, only takes a minute. Main details required are user name and password.

There's no 'include subfolders' tickbox in Outlook XP...

Okay - couldn't check that one setting - dont have Outlook XP ;) BUT looking at the link I posted if you select Personal Folders, it should pick the other folders as well. if you want here is a PDF (http://its.agnesscott.edu/OnlineDocs/Email/ImpExpFolders.pdf) I located it goes through each step.

That PDF assumes a include subfolders tickbox is present too :)

Would upgrading to Outlook 2003 temporarily to export the messages/contacts etc work?

EDIT: false alarm - Outlook XP does actually have a subfolders checkbox :o

By selecting Personal Folders in Outlook XP, it should take all the folders, since they are all branched off of the Personal Folder.

As Mentioned I cant test it - I don't have any Office XP loaded on any machines.

Shouldn't have to upgrade to 2003 - try exporting it as it is, then import to Office 2003. have a look At this article (http://www.howto-outlook.com/Howto/backupandrestore.htm) - I usually just locate and grab thee whole PST file from the original then transfer it.
