View Full Version : "xbox live strict nat needing to change to open

hey im using a dsl 302g modem to my xbox 360 and pc witch has windows xp the pc is running through usb and the xbox is running through ethernet and on my xbox it says my nat is strict and ive been on tonnes of site that say i need to open some ports and make static ipz but none of them tell me how to do it and ive tried port forwarding and it comes up with 501 method could not be implomented after each nat rule i make if some one could help please do also i have tried the site www.portforwarding.com

What needs the static ip address? XP or the XBox or both?

For XP, go to network connections in XP, highlight the LAN connection / properties / TCP/IP. This is where you can put an ip in manually. (It maybe on obtain an ip address automatically). Change it to use the following ip address, and put in an ip address thats valid for the router

I dont know what the XBox options are, so cant tell you where to go or what to do
