Formated hard drive

Press any key to start from CD - ok
starts with: inspecting computer hardware configuration
that message disappears & that's it - blank screen - no hard drive activity - nothing??!
tried a new CD drive - no change

any suggestions?
Thank you

What was the reason for the format?
What sort of system?

Did you remove the hdd to format it?

shouldn't make any difference ...........you dont need to format it anyway.......the install proceedure gives you the choice of a clean install......try a ram test........and a hdd test for good measure.....
