The logical thing to do would be to remove the files you put in the folder...

i can't, if i click on something in windows movie maker.... like anything at all, it freezes and shuts down! at first, i could click on browse for missing file, and it would locate it , but now i cant even do that, it doesn't matter what i click on wmm it just ends up crashing which ends up freezing the entire computer..

Sounds like something is corrupt

Does everything else work ok without freezing??

Whatever folder you put these files in (if theyre still there).

Boot into safe mode and delete them or move them somewhere else

Hold press F8 (if its the same as XP), then select safe mode

Tap F8 after BIOS POST, select safe mode. (with networking if you want to post here in safe mode.) :p

I think I would uninstall Movie maker and renistall it afresh.

Can you uninstall MM, since its gets installed as part of Windows??

You could get version 2.5 or 6 I think it is, from the MS site, which is for Vista only.

Thats if the version installed now isnt 2.5 or 6

Well, at least remove it through add/remove windows components, and reboot then put it on again.

the version i have is 6.0
but it seems to be working ok now that i moved the files into a different folder
funny how that works :stare:

thanks for the suggestion of putting it in a new folder, i didnt know it would be something as simple as that.. :thanks
