Got a PC in today to fix for a friend. . .Local Area connection was set to static, but wasn't working. . . .I reverted back to DHCP, and it now shows connected, but the connection status under the support tab is completely blank.

ipconfig /all comes up with:

An internal error occurred: the request is not supported

Please contact Microsoft blah blah blah. . . .

Additional Information: unable to query host name.

What's the consensus? I've posted a HJT log on here too - looks like there's a lot of nasties (Spyware Doctor found 512 infections), so I'm wondering if something has killed the TCP/IP stack?

Thoughts?? :badpc:

Tick the entries I've posted in your HJT log, and use trojan remover.

As posted in your thread.
