hi all, i have a problem. just got a new HDD media player with new unformated HDD. i have been trying to format it into fat32 but win vista:badpc: :badpc: would allow me me. only give me an option of NTFS which my media player don't support..:mad: :mad:

any ideas..

use a live linux disk such as Ubuntu run it from cd instead of Vista and format it that way if Vista won't allow you to do it, as Linux distro's have gparted built into them

Thats by far the easiest way. I did exactly that less than a week ago, with a HDD media player, worked a charm. :thumbs:

If you havn't got a linux distro handy, or don't want to use up a lot of bandwidth downloading it, here (http://download.tuxfamily.org/gpartedlive/gparted-livecd-0.3.4-9.iso) is a link to download just the gparted live cd. (direct download).

make or download a bootable floppy disk, eg the win98se one from here: http://bootdisk.com/bootdisk.htm

and then put this on it http://www.ranish.com/part/

thanks a lots guys that fat32 format works great but took me a while get it running lol forgot to run cmd as administrator.. stupid vista..
