I have two updates for MS Vista, KB942763 and KB943411, which always fail when trying to install. Every day it tries again, but inevitably fails. I have followed their directions for Error Code 80070643, but that has had no effect. I am at a loss as to what to do next. (Both of the updates are marked as Important.)
All other updates install without problems while those two continue to fail.

by any chance do you have Comodo firewall installed -according to This Forum (http://forums.comodo.com/help_for_v3/windows_update_fails_with_comodo_merged_threads-t16987.45.html) you need to uninstall it, turning off wont fix the problem.

One is for the Daylight saving patch and the other is the sidebar.
You can try googling them and download directly, but every thing I have read so far says its Comodo firewall causing the problem.

One of the Patches (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=f75e30d4-3036-4970-bc16-48a96e1cedc7&displaylang=en) and Other Patch Here (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=A7BB4622-FB21-4769-B29A-7FC7A07D182A&displaylang=en)

Yes, I have Comodo. The problem righted itself when I uninstalled Comodo with the object of installing an updated version. I tried the update then, without Comodo installed, and it worked. You are right on the button. Thank you.
