my symantec antivirus has been going bonkers for the past ....20 minutes about these and as fast as it can qaurentene and delete them they keep coming back.

its keeping my cpu usage at 100% and even with DSL it now takes forever to load a page, i need to get these things gone and fast.

i am not the brightest of bulbs so you might have to explain things easier for me.

i have symantec,AVG,killbox, hjt and trojan remover on my computer.

i just got rid of indt.sys and now i need to get rid of these.

please help.

You've got some nasties in there.

Run hijackthis again tick these entries then tick fix checked

Close browser/s.

C:\WINDOWS\system32\SVVH0ST.EXE <---- Delete this file in safe mode. And kill it now if you can if its running in task manager. Altho this may disable task manager.

Uninstall ALL versions of Java, yours is out of date. Latest version is in my sig.

Get this (http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/FxVMonde.exe)

See if it picks Virtumonde up.

Taken from here (http://www.symantec.com/security_response/writeup.jsp?docid=2003-120914-4108-99&tabid=1)

We may have to disable system restore and delete whats in its folder after.

Tick this entry too

O16 - DPF: {149E45D8-163E-4189-86FC-45022AB2B6C9} - file://C:\Program Files\Santa's Super Friends\Images\stg_drm.ocx

I would disable system restore, then boot into safe mode.

Log in under your username, open my computer, go to tools / folder options
view tab . Untick hide protected operating files.

Right click on system volume info folder / properties / security tab / add.

Type in the name that appears when u click on start up the top.

Click on check names, if its right it'll add the name. Click on OK. Tick under allow then ok. Open the system volume information folder, delete everything in it.

If youve got more than 1 partition / hard drive, do the above on all of them.

Then reboot.

Then get ccleaner (http://www.ccleaner.com)

Install it, run it click on run cleaner

Since trojan remover is installed, select all options under the utilities menu as well.

12-12-2007, 11:05 AM
what do you mean name on top?

ive disabled system restore, i just dont understand the name thing uptop?

do you think i should just let the computer specialists at the college deal with it since i dont know much about this stuff?

Speedy Gonzales

The username that appears at the top when u click on the Start button.

If yours is jonh u type in john

Or the name u login to windows with.

Up to you if u want the college / whoever to fix it.

12-12-2007, 06:09 PM
im going to take it to the college tomorrow and have them look at it,im hoping they can fix it without whiping it, or if they have to whipe it im saving some stuff that isnt virused >.<

thanks for your help speedy :D

No worries :)

You'll have to reinstall programs if they wipe / format it.
