Hi,
Can any one tell me why I can't access the folders mark with a black arrow on top of it in Users Folders( C:\Users\Smith\Application Data,My Music, My Picture, My Videos,My Document,NetHood etc, etc.) of Window Vista.

When I click on the folder mark with a black arrow, a small window shows up saiying: Location is not available-C:\Users\Smith\Application Data is not accessible.-Access is denied.

Can any one help please!

Thank you.

By any chance are you an Administrator??
If you are, normally it should work.

Look here (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/930128)

Did you upgrade/update from XP?

Hi wainuitech,
It is not the shortcuts on desktop, It is on C:\Users folder ( in Window Explorer)
Thanks

These are not real folders. They are only there for XP compatibility. Ignore them.

Hi, linw,
They are real folders (in Vista ultimate), After I take control the ownership of the folders, I can open and view some of them but there still some of them show up the error messages "Access is denied"
Why is this? Because you can open and view all the folders in Window Explorer of XP.
Thanks.

Well Vista ISNT XP. And its meant to be more secure.

That could be the reason.
