Which is the best Wireless Modem for 2 story brick house we have three computer one desk top down stairs and two lap tops up stairs.
We want one that will allows all three to be on line at the same time, with good speed (we are using telecom broadband only on desk top at present)
Dont mind paying top $ so long as it works and is secure.

Change the ISP first.

Or you may never move.

The Wireless N routers are pretty good, but theyre not cheap.

Any wireless modem/router will do, might just have to change the aerial to make it go further.

I take it both laptops have wireless onboard?

What material is the floor/ceiling between the two floors?

A lot can also depend on "whats in the House" so to speak, insulation , wiring etc. Different houses handle the range of Wireless better than others.
Usually the Linksys Brand of routers work well.

If you find there is certain areas that are a little low on signal strength you can always add in a repeater, this extends the signal from the original output source.
SomethingLike this from Linksys (http://www.linksys.com/servlet/Satellite?c=L_Product_C2&childpagename=US%2FLayout&cid=1130267578138&pagename=Linksys%2FCommon%2FVisitorWrapper)

I've used the new Linksys WAG325N (http://www-nz.linksys.com/servlet/Satellite?c=L_Product_C2&childpagename=NZ%2FLayout&cid=1169671141909&pagename=Linksys%2FCommon%2FVisitorWrapper&lid=4190988888B01) in a few houses and they work great.
All the houses have been double-story brick 'n' tile type with gib but one was a concrete house and the signal was pretty good in most of the house. Had to add one access point to reach the far end of the house.

Just make sure that whatever you buy is a draft-N router. Its a big house and thus this will make sure that you get the best coverage/speed you can get. While they are slightly more expensive, its a great way to future proof and make sure that new gadgets are compatible and can take full advantage of their capabilities.
