Hi all

I am currently working on some files for my church that I want to upload to the internet for public access. I want to upload files for free, have them stay on the server indefinitely, and have unlimited downloads - and a direct link if possible (ie no advertising page before clicking 'Download' on the provider's page). The files are ~10MB each and would probably be uploading about 10 of these before the old ones become so outdated they start to drop off the end.

Are there any good sites to upload to? I have tried www.filecabin.co.nz but when I get the download link via email it says the file size is 0KB (the real size is ~10000KB).
MegaUpload requires you to wait 45 secs to download (would use this if it was ~15 secs like FileCabin but 45 is too long!)
Freewebs (where the website is housed) provides insufficient storage space (40MB - I need at least 100MB).

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Here is a link that relates to supposedly 3x popular popular free backup services with large storage space - up to 2 GB. But being free, there may be conditions. I used to use streamload a while back, and it required others to sign up if they wanted to view my files. You could use ISP free storage space - but that is likely to be only 20 MB. I use my current ISP (KOL) to upload word documents, to allow others to download. You need to ring your ISP to activate it, and maybe extend the space size.

Maybe also consider A blog site, like Google's blogspot (https://www.blogger.com/start). You can type in your info, and refer people to your blogspot site...It's free, and it auto archives. I think you can restrict access under permissions, and there are many settings that you can apply...

last time when I looked DivShare (http://upload.divshare.com/) looked pretty decent
not sure if it fits your requirements..think they've changed a bit since I last visited

or you can go to www.filehosthome.com to pick and choose

Stay on the server indefinitly? Unlimited downloads? No advertising? Hmm, your expectations may be a bit optimistic for a free service. $10 per month however would get you what you're after.

Lemme know if I can help.
