I have a Dlink DSL 504t set as 192.168.10.254 and a server with NIC 192.168.10.1. I want to allow all traffic through to the server (so the server can handle filtering) but when I try to enter 192.168.10.1 in the DMZ setting the router reports "Invalid IP, range 192.168.10.2-192.168.10.254". Setup works fine otherwise and can pinhole ports to 192.168.10.1 but want to open all ports to the server. Any suggestions why 192.168.10.1 can't be DMZ'd? DLink support have failed to find an answer so far!
BTW, have downloaded latest firmware.

Well as it says the range is 192.168.10.2 - 192.168.10.254.

You have to give it an ip of 192.168.10.2 + (not 192.168.10.1), which is why its saying invalid ip.

Its below the range it accepts.

Change 192.168.10.1 to 192.168.10.2 or higher (BUT below 192.168.10.254).

Thanks for the reply Speedy but I had worked that much out for myself. The question is why is 192.168.10.1 not valid. As this is a common setup across a number of sites I don't really want to change the ip address. Any reason why 192.168.10.1 can't be DMZ'd?

No, but thats what the router said didnt it??

Its invalid.

Like what you said in the first post.

Invalid IP, range 192.168.10.2-192.168.10.254

The range means just that. The ip has to be within that range.

I would say, you've got no choice but to change it,or it'll never work.

We cant change it, we didnt make the router.
