Hi, I downloaded a tv programme from http://tvnzondemand.co.nz and the file is sensingmurder_2006_ep1_tm924824.wmv.dlm . What is a dlm file? Can I modify it so it is simply a .wmv file allowing me to play it? How? Please talk to me like a kid as I'm not a very experienced computer user. Thanks heaps, Apo

Change /rename it to filename.wmv and find out. See what happens.

Looking up DLM file extensions it pointed to one common answer -
(copied from varies sites)

"The entry may be linked to a site that controls the program named with the referenced extension or to a site which decides the format in detail or controls it."

In English - That means that TVNZ still controls how you can play the program. It may not play unless you are conneted to the internet and then the program links back to TVNZ to get permission to play.
It may also have a limited number of plays allowed, meaning you may be only able to play it once.

You may be able to rename it as speedy suggested, but it may or may not work.

I once (in a stupid move) did the same thing by dnlddg a tv show...it ran OK..but it left behind so much pop-up and spam that I regretted it dearly.

Remember that as the Administrator of XP (if you are using it) you can make these changes without you even knowing it.

Sidebar: interested here if you are using WMP11.
