Hi Guys
I have the problem that whenever I hit a link it jumps to a different site, usually a naughty one. It will show the correct address in the address bar for a few seconds and then jump to one of these other sites.
E.g google search pc world, results comes up, click on the link which has pc world, bit of a pause then it jumps to naughty site.
Any Ideas?

You have spyware!! Heh Heh.

Seriously, though...

Download and install this (http://www.malwarebytes.org/rogueremover.php) this (http://www.simplysup.com/tremover/download.html) and this (http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/), update them and run them through. Post a hijackthis (http://www.trendsecure.com/portal/en-US/tools/security_tools/hijackthis) log and we'll see whats in it.

Run Ad-aware, Avast AV, Spybot-SD, Rogue Remover as well and get a decent firewall such as Comodo when your done. And get CCleaner to keep your cookies and cache clean and to delete such entries as well.

IMO, don't try spyware doctor. It slows your PC down something chronic, and often has compatibility issues with other software. Other free apps (adaware, spybot, ccleaner) do a better job.

None do a better job for cleaning/removal.
Then uninstall it when finished

And here I was gonna stuff some panadol in the floppy drive. Thanks for the tips, I'll do the above in the next couple of days.

Or just use FF on a pc, with correctly configured NOD32 Ver3 and Comodo Firewall and you will be fine.

um it is a PC just cos it has Linux on it don't mean its not a pc.

Ya mean just use FF on windows. which we do on the laptop. and too poor to pay for Nod32 even though it is not much. just use Avast, which is just as good i reckon.

It is just as good but get Comodo Firewall to complete the protection.
