Does anyone have any knowledge as to whether a third party Firewall is necessary with Vista, and if so which one works the best?
Thanks

Zonealarm free now works good in Vista, download page Here (http://www.zonealarm.com/store/content/catalog/products/sku_list_za.jsp) on right of page, select "Free Download" Button. Then down the bottom of the next page select the "only want basic ----- it will down load a small installer, which when you run it will select your OS - XP or Vista, select download and install.

The Vista firewall, while it works ( kind of) it still has faults and can cause problems.

Have been using this with the Vista firewall. Found it a really worthwhile addition to the standard firewall. Just using the free version. http://www.sphinx-soft.com/Vista/order.html Worth a try anyway.
