Well I recently downloaded a game and my antivirus program deleted it and then the antivirus thing went out of date... then the start bar and icon vanished... i went to task manager and noticed explorer.exe had been closed, i clicked new task and ran explorer. the start bar and icons came up and vanished after about 10 seconds. ive been trying to solve the problem all day but i have had no luck and everytime i run explorer it vanishes again and again... please help... I also downloaded that hijacker thing and this is what came up...

Sounds like a virus, and maybe it has deleted/disabled explorer?
Try a virus/spyware/adware scan in safe mode, for starters.
otherwise wait for more replies.

I fixed it... I rebooted in safe mode and ran a trojan removal program... everything is running a lot better than before :D

Make sure you have at least 2 antivirus programs in addition to Boclean and Hijackthis. Use them OFTEN

Correction there PCtek ;) - 1 antivirus program - must be tired eh!:D

Quote from one previous post - You should have one anti-virus and at least two anti-spyware programs.

2 antivirus programs fight one another, unless of course its nortons - then it fights its self.
