Hi campers,

We just had a fully working iPhone in our office, with a couple of circuits shorted so it'll run happily on Vodafone's network. Check out Jan's report on our Hot Products blog here (http://pcworld.co.nz).

It's synergy, innit? We've got both forums covered ... or should I say: who can think straight with a naked fat man in their face 24/7?

I think I will give the iphone a miss, far too expensive for what it does, besides there will be a few cheapies for sale when the new version comes out. Not that I ever intend to buy one.

That depends on what a decent eMate, iPaq or similar brand of mobile office costs. I gather the latest Nokia copy of the iPhone is priced pretty close to the iPhone.

What is it worth brand new?
Apple is probably going to "open" the iPhone to 3rd party application developers at some point - aside from the ones who are hacking it right now.
