SPAM

Rob99, tell me why you 'think' that posting a link to something is spam? I thought it would be of interest as it is something for free. I tried it and it does give you an audiobook to download. You can then cancel the service and you are not billed anything.

It is not like Vodafone posting commercial postings advertising their services on this website.

Whys that a problem? After you download the free audio book, you then just cancel the account.

Will it work for non-Ipods as well? Say MP3 players and IPAQ's?

I love audio books you can learn so much from them. You can get audio books
from amazon. The last one I got was "Life in the flea Circus"

I am pretty sure it works with most types and brands of player including mobile phone. If you check their help section it should give you the answer.

Rob99, tell me why you 'think' that posting a link to something is spam? Why did you not just link to http://audible.com, it would apear you are on some sort of affiliate program, where you make a cut if anyone was to buy after clicking your link.

Guess you have just been found out!

Apologies to rogerp, it would appear that it is geekbrief that is taking the cut, thanks to beeswax34

All I did was jump to conclusions when the URL changed, so I investigating their affiliate program. http://www.audible.com/adbl/store/affiliatesNew/index.jsp?BV_UseBVCookie=Yes&Type=AffiliatePage

Thats ok. Without the geekbrief url you can't get the free audiobook offer, otherwise I would have just posted a link to audible.com

I used to have an audible a/c a few years back
The most heavily DRM'ed stuff about
I had to load their software onto my PDA (or WIN) just to be able to play it.
On the plus side, once you paid, you could redownload the file as many times as wanted by logging into your a/c (in case you deleted the files)

Cant be bothered with it anymore. Too heavily DRM'ed

Not sure how easy it would be to get it to work on ipods
http://www.audible.com/iPod/FAQ.html

Also, cant see why any site like this NEEDS a credit card no, just to access
the free offer's.

U could try this site - http://publicliterature.org

Not alot of content and getting audio onto iPods etc probly out of the question but content is free. So u can't accuse me of posting spam :)
