I happened to be reading a newsletter from Microsoft and it had this in it

We have all seen hero bars on Web sites. Did you know that it is easy to create a hero bar with Silverlight, and that it is just as easy to drive that hero bar content using RSS?

Ok doke, I had always used the term "Hero Bar" as a sarcastic form of praise.

But what the hell is a Hero Bar

I have been thinking but i'm sure none of these are correct

1) An actual chocolate bar - (infact i am sure there is such a thing)
2) A bar in Sydney frequented by Males with Dress sense and Females without dress sense

I am pretty sure microsoft doesn't mean either of those so anyone with ideas would be appreciated

As it says here (http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb410109.aspx)

We have all seen hero bars on our favorite websites—you know, the banner at the top of the site that rotates around new content and provides direct linkage to it?

Did you know that it is easy to create a hero bar with Silverlight? Did you also know that it is just as easy to drive that hero bar content using RSS?
