I noticed my C:\ had limited space so i went to add remove programs selected sort by size

and top of the list was

KB926122 windows Hotfix 7.5Gb

which is about 20-30 x the sie of the original OS, so would i be right in assuming there may be something a bit screwy there?

Ok heres a screen shot for any of you who think i'm telling porkies (http://nigel.geek.nz/hotfix.gif)

and this from microsoft (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=812e62c5-6e19-4b3b-8a10-861b871e1b41&displaylang=en)

I don't need a link - I believe you. MS is good at bloat.

Even Microsoft would be pushed to achieve 7.5GB from a 1.3 MB download. There is something a bit screwy on your computer.

It is not unusual for "Add or Remove Programs" to incorrectly report the size of an installation.
A size of "4,095.00MB" is recorded for a few trivial installations on my machine.

Avonbill you may be right, i removed it and it sure as heck didn't free up 7.5gbs, rather depressing as I could have done with the space
