View Full Version : Tuning Sky on DVD recorder

Hiya all, have just purchased a Pioneer CVR540H-S DVD recorder. This is my 1st recorder so excuse my ignorance please. Having trouble tuning sky into a channel on it. I am certain that I have the cords all correct as I am able to view sky on the TV with the AV cord going via the recorder. Have tuned all other stations OK. I am thinking that it is something to do with a different method/option of tuning Sky within the recorder tuning menu. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Wouldnt you do it, as if it were a video recorder??

Connect the cables up, then make the Sky channel, channel 4 on the TV (tune Sky into channel 4 on the TV).

And use the Sky remote to tune the different Sky channels in??

Are you sure you can tune Sky through this DVD recorder?

You shouldn't have to 'tune' it, just set the recorder to AV1 or AV2 etc depending on which one you have the sky decoder connected to.
Unless you are only using the aerial / coax output from the sky decoder into the recorder??

Sorted it thanks people. The sky channels are available on the L1 channel of the recorder. Would be nice if they told you that when they sell you the recorder!

Don't worry there'll be plenty of other things you'll need the manual for :)
