View Full Version : Deleting Documents from MS Word dropdown box

I have deleted two documents from MS Word via the recycle bin however they are both still listed in the Word File dropdown box although I cannot access either when I click on to them and I cannot remove them from the box.How do I get rid of them? They seem to be somewhere as my hard drive freespace hasn't increased!
System 486,Windows95,MS Word.

Hi Gene,
Open Word,
Go Tools>Options>click on the general tab go to the recently used file entry and uncheck it, click on OK at the bottom and your problem is solved. If you want reverse the process later on check the box and type in the number of files you want to see.

Thankyou.I followed instructions and problem solved. I then reversed the proceedure and found that Word now excepts the documents as deleted so they don't reappear in the dropdown box.
