Hi, I am running Win 98se. On bootup I get the message :"Invalid system disk" What is it and how do I resolve it please.
How do I change the Bios sequence in Win 98se?I can select it but don't know how to change it.The sequence at the moment is C,A so can't boot from a floppy.
Thanks
Eddie

If there's a floppy in the disk drive, remove it.

Its in the right order, c is the hdd A is the floppy.

.

If there isn't then the HDD is knackered, or the O/S that was installed on it.

You might see at the bottom of the page in the BIOS setup routine which key to use to change the boot device order. It might be the "page up" or "page down" key, or one of the "F" keys.

A common cause for that particular error message is that the "boot sector" code has been zapped somehow. If you can boot from a floppy, the DOS command fdisk /mbr is the first thing to try.

Howver, if the hard disk boot sector is the cause, the "C, A" order should cause it to look for a bootable floppy, so you shouldn't need to change it.
