Hi everybody
My name is Majid , I live in Iraq .
Because of power crisis my country suffer from , I decided to replace my old monitor (500) watts ! with LCD monitor ,so that I can use UPS for longer period of time, I bought used LCD one (48) watts ,for $100 , it was Fujitsu , model VL-17WDX5.
The problem is that the signal cable plug is not standard "D" type ,it's 28 pin (monitor has built in speakers that I don't need) , could you please give me pin assignment of such cable to convert it to standard "D" type ?
Thanks
Yours / Majid

Dude, I think that's a bit racist.

Majid, I think there are adapters that you could buy to convert those pins, but I'm not too sure.

Welcome to PressF1 Majid Al Khafaji :D

Don’t listen to plod, I guess he is having a bad night….

So you know this forum is in New Zealand so we won’t be able to tell you how much that adapter will be.

By the way there is no need to post your question another 2x times http://pressf1.co.nz/showthread.php?t=78184 & http://pressf1.co.nz/showthread.php?t=78182 it was 10:52 PM NZST when you posted this thread which is night time here in NZ, so PressF1 will be a bit quiter now then in NZ day time, if I was you I would check this thread again tomorrow night NZST.

Good luck :)

There's nothing racist about that remark from Plod. Iraq is the second most dangerous country to be in right now after Columbia so it is kind of justified though we shouldnt be dismissing the carnage being caused in Iraq everyday.

Does the plug look like this http://lawlor.cs.uaf.edu/~olawlor/ref/mac_ports/big/mon_dvi.jpg

If so, then it's a DVI (digital) input. I know you can get adaptors to go from a DVI output from the video card to a VGA (D-Sub) monitor, but I'm not too sure about going the other way.

You have my sympathy there, Majid. :(

Hopefully things will get better soon for your country, though I admit the word "better" carries a rather ambiguous meaning here.

Cheers :)

P.S. How did you manage to stumble upon this forum?

Only thing I can find is VL-17WDX5-R which is a 17 inch LCD which uses DVI-D.

And the link somebody gave, is the other end of the adapter (VGA to DVI) I have here.
