Hi
I am sure there is a simple explanation but.
I open "my music", click on the blank screen to bring up a drop down menu, click on "arrange icons by" which displays...name..size..type..artist..duration..bit rate..show in groups. As I want to look at the last D/Ls, my problem! Where has "modified" gone to? Any help much appreciated.
ps It has always been there in the past.

Set your view in My Music to Details (View - Details).
Right-click on one of the list Titles (Name, Size, Type etc) and make sure Date Modified is ticked.
You should now be able to Arrange icons by modified.

As I said before!
"Modified" is not listed. So I can not click on it.

Likewise.
Not that I use MYMusic anyway........

Rename the folder or move them into another - then you get modified.
I notice MyPictures has its own set too.

I'm not happy about renaming a basic windows folder. Especially as "modified "has been there for years and right up to last week.

When I say this I mean Attached file: modified.JPG (http://www.imagef1.net.nz/files/modified.JPG) (103 KB)

Please take no notice of the music, it's my wifes. Honest!

So where did u go ?

View menu / details, or view menu / choose details under the view menu? when you run My Computer.

Thats where u can tick it

Or is this the option (choose details) thats missing?

He means this:

You get Modified for other folders. Not MyMusic.

Well I don't either - can't say I ever used it - I have my own folders for stuff.

Then again, I've fiddled about with my Windows so much maybe I did whatever he did too..............

If u go to view menu / choose details and tick date modified then modified will be there.

I just tried it and its there.

You mean this folder right ? (http://www.imagef1.net.nz/files/music.jpg)

Hi On looking at your solutions I see you get to "my music" by going..c/documents and settings/name/my doc/ my music. I did this way and was able to show "modified" when I clicked on the page to enable a drop down menu. I clicked on this and all worked well. Thank G.
My usual method to get to "my music" was to click on "start" and there it was.
Thank you all for your assistance. I got there in a round about way but the main thing is that it worked.
