Is this viewer Malware? Googled it but nothing untoward mentioned there.

It was needed for FindMyPast.com to view and download a imigration manifest.

LizardTech directory still shows the viewer, but it does not execute, so our malware software must work!!!!.

FindMyPast sent an attachment which did open up okay, but unfortunately it was not the correct ancestor.

Its a plugin for browsers isnt it?

It may execute but install the files for the plugin into the browser's plugin folder.

Speedy, yes it's a plugin. Have downloaded it twice in the past, 25 Oct 05 and 5 Nov 05.

http://www.findmypast.com/downloads/ is their download site. Would it pay to clear out the old Lizard folder and start afresh?.

Thanks,

Lurks.

So does the plugin work on that site??

If it doesnt close the browser and go back to it. If the plugin has been installed.

It's a viewer which displays highly compressed scanned documents. It was used extensively by the Boatanchor Manual (bama.sbc.edu) site. I note that there is an alternative DJVu viewer (windjview.sourceforge.net) for both Windows and Linux. You might want to try that one.

Speedy and Graham l, thanks for help. Took wifey out for her birthday yesterday and the "lubrication" must have worked wonders.

DjVuViewer downloaded this morning and has repaired itself.

Still like IrfanView which is used for Overseas Census forms.
